Spotlight on, Lindsay Benoit, Human Resources Manager

We are continuing with our goal of recognizing the incredible people that make Altus Infusion thrive. This month we are shining the spotlight on one of our newest additions, Lindsay Benoit, our new Human Resources Manager.

Lindsay plays a pivotal role in Altus Infusion. Although she has only been with us for a few months, her contributions in creating process improvements and enhancing our work environment are self-evident.

Lindsay has been a breath of fresh air for our organization! As our new HR Manager, I have personally seen the efforts she makes in ensuring everyone knows who she is and how welcoming she is. She wants to make sure everyone succeeds no matter what role you play in the organization. She cares for both the strategic goals of Altus & all of the employees.”

– Rebecca Sanchez, Project Manager

As human resources manager, Lindsay helps find the right talent for each position within Altus Infusion, including our dedicated nurses that make it possible for physicians across the country to offer infusion therapy to their patients in the convenience of their existing practice.

We know firsthand how much Lindsay has touched the lives of everyone she works with, and we invite you to take a few minutes to get to know her and understand how she is helping reshape the face of Altus Infusion.

Introducing Lindsay Benoit, the Louisiana Native

Becoming a human resources manager was not Lindsay’s initial goal, who holds a Vocal Music Education degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. When she was a child growing up in West Monroe, she dreamed of becoming many things, including a doctor, a singer, a police officer, and a psychologist.

Although these professions may seem worlds apart, there is one underlying trait to them; she always wanted to help people.

Lindsay was gracious enough to spare a few minutes out of her hectic workday to talk to us.  Here are the highlights of our interview.

Q: Your position as a human resources manager is very demanding, how do you balance your work and family life?

Lindsay:

I have a great support system in my husband, family, and friends. I am thankful daily for their support.

Q: What is a typical day outside of work like for you?

Lindsay:

I love to do anything with my kids and friends. With my kids, we like experiences- zoo, museums, festivals, trips to see family. With my friends, we love to cook and invite everyone over for game nights. My husband is Cajun, so boiling crawfish and crabs is a must!

Q: If you could travel back in time, what advice would you give yourself?

Lindsay:

Don’t be so impatient! Everything will happen as it is meant to happen and in due time. So hard to see that when you are in the moment.

Q: How do you keep yourself motivated, and sane in such a hectic work environment?

Lindsay:

I like to say, “I am not perfect. All I can do is be a better person tomorrow than I was today.” This came from years of my thinking I had to be perfect and stressing over imperfection both at work and in my personal life. Now I just tell myself, “Lindsay, be a better you tomorrow than you were today.”

Q: That is excellent advice! Getting back to your decision to become a human resources professional, how did this come about?

Lindsay:

Getting a degree in vocal music education taught me so much, about presence and putting my best foot forward at all times. It also taught me how to work with teams and to take constructive feedback.

I ended up in HR because someone believed in me. I was an Assistant Store Manager for Kroger Co., and someone recommended me for an HR Position, and my career took off from there. Someone believed in my ability to connect with people.

Q: Who has been your biggest influence or your mentor?

Lindsay:

My mom! She is amazing. She shows just the right amount of love and affection as she does tough love. She taught me to never give up and to do it with grace. My dad… he taught me a strong work ethic that has helped me get where I am today!

Q: What have been your biggest successes in life?

Lindsay:

Graduating from college was my first. It took me a few extra years, but I gained so much personally during that time. My kids are truly my biggest accomplishment. Seeing them grow and learn is amazing. I get to mold the future, and it is fun… although tough at times. The most rewarding and testing job I have.

Q: What is success to you?

Lindsay:

Success is providing value to those around me. Whether it is my kids, husband or friends. I am successful in my personal life if I bring value to their lives by being a shoulder to cry on or the person who urges them to be brave in whatever they do. I am successful in my work life if I bring value to the lives of my co-workers and ultimately our clients and patients. Maybe that value is in creating process improvements or in creating a happy and healthy working environment. That is success to me.

Q: What is your management style? How do you like to communicate with your team?

Lindsay:

My style is collaborative. I enjoy working in teams or groups allowing everyone to play a part and provide their thoughts and ideas.

Q: How would you describe the company culture here?

Lindsay:

It is a culture of change. The company is growing, and that is so exciting! It allows for a culture of creativity and collaboration.

Q: What do you love most about working with Altus Infusion?

Lindsay:

I love the people. I have met so many great people who are dedicated to their patients and clients, and they are so passionate about what they do. It is inspiring!
