Patients often cite having to deal with insurance companies as one of the most stressful aspects of their treatment. Our billing department is here to help the patient navigate through that process so that they can focus on taking care of their health.
Many of you have the pleasure of dealing with the members of our billing department as part of your jobs and know firsthand how incredible this group of people is.
While we value the contributions of each member of the billing department, we could not sit for a one on one with each of them. We were lucky enough to speak with one, Teresa M. Spicer, and get to know her better.
We think she is a phenomenal human being and a great asset to the team, and we are sure you will all agree.
Here is a little excerpt from our conversation:
Q/ What is the most exciting part about your role at Altus Biologics?
A/ I work with a great team, and the work is interesting and challenging.
Q/ What are some of your interests and hobbies outside of your career?
A/ I enjoy reading, watching the food network, and spending time with my family.
Q/ What advice would you give to your younger self?
A/ Take things more seriously, but don’t forget to enjoy life more too
Q/ If you could have dinner with one historical/influential/inspirational figure, who would it be and why?
A/ I would say John Wayne because my Grandmother was a huge fan, and I have great memories watching his movies with her.
Q/ What is your favorite inspirational quote, and why?
A/ I have two:
“Alright, Alright, Alright.” -Matthew McConaughey. It makes me smile.
“If you’re always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.” -Maya Angelou. This reminds me just to be me.
Those are two great quotes. Maya Angelou was such an inspirational figure and who doesn’t love Matthew McConaughey?
