This month’s Employee of the Month is Lorraine Ewing, one of our talented Regional Operations Managers.

The Role of a Regional Operations Manager

The tasks handled by our Regional Operations Manager are of the utmost importance, as they act as liaisons between physicians and our clinical staff.

Our Regional Operations Managers are highly professional individuals who are characterized by being:

While all our Regional Operations Managers perform above expectations, this month, we are honoring Lorraine Ewing for her excellent performance.

Getting to Know Lorraine Ewing

We recently sat down to chat with Lorri to learn more about this amazing woman. We certainly enjoyed getting to know her and are sure you will too. Today we will be sharing a brief portion of our conversation.

Q/ If you don’t mind us saying so, you seem like a fascinating person. Where were you born?

A/ Thank you! I was born in Puerto Rico and have lived in Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Germany, Colorado, Ohio, and Texas.

 

Q/ You’ve lived in many places, where is home now?

A/ Pasadena, Texas

 

Q / What did you first want to be when you grew up?

A/ I wanted to be a veterinarian

 

Q/ What advice would you give to your younger self?

A/ Don’t be in such a rush to grow up, enjoy your youth!

 

Q/ How do you juggle your work and home life?

A/ As much as I care about my job, for me, my family always comes first.

 

Q/ What do you do when you are not working? Do you have any hobbies or interests?

A/ I enjoy spending time with my family and our four dogs.

 

Q/ What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?

A/ I can speak a little French.

A/ Kindness matters!

 

Q/ What is Success for you?

A/ Success to me is being able to tackle the task put in front of me. Being challenged pushes me harder.

 

Q/ What is your motto or personal mantra?

A/ Walk by Faith!

Q/ Why did you decide on a career as a Regional Operations Manager?

A/ I enjoy helping people feel better and treating patients the way that I would want others to treat my family.

 

Q/ What or who has been your most significant influence or your mentor?

A/ My mentor is my father, Luis Ortiz. He has always put his family first and has been there for anyone that has needed his help.

 

Q/ What is your most significant achievement to date – personal or professional?

A/ My biggest achievement has been my 25-year marriage to Mark Ewing and raising our children Alexander and Yasmine.

 

Q/ How does Lori define success? What does it mean to you?

A/ Success to me is doing whatever makes you happy.

 

Q/ We know this will be hard, but if you had to describe your role in just three words, what would they be?

A/ Fast-paced, challenging, and always changing.

 

Q/ When did you start at Altus Infusion?

A/ April 7, 2014

 

Q/How did you first hear about us?

A/ From a coworker.

 

Q/ What is your management style? How do you like to communicate with your team?

A/ I try to stay involved in the day to day process that my team experiences and enjoy talking to them every day. I like helping the team learn new skills that will make the job easier.   

 

Q/ What is the most common question you get from patients?

A/ Patients are always concerned about the financial side of their medical treatments, so understandably the most common question we get from patients is: How much is this treatment going to cost?

 

Q/ How would you describe the company culture here?

A/ Family oriented.

 

Q/ What do you love most about working with Altus Infusion?

A/ The medical field is always changing. I love the medical knowledge that I have gained from working at Altus. 

 

Q/ Can you share with us your favorite memory from working at Altus Infusion?

A/ There are so many good memories, but I would say that the friendships that I have made throughout my five years with Altus have been the best memories.
