Unity is Strength, Celebrating Nonprofit Organizations

“For a community to be whole and healthy, it must be based on people’s love and concern for each other.”  Millard Fuller

The selfless act of caring about others and their plight in life is what makes society thrive in times of need.

Nonprofit organizations are the prime example of what caring for others can do. In honor of National Nonprofit Day celebrated on August 17th, Altus Infusion would like to raise awareness for some of the nonprofit organizations that are near and dear to our heart.

Lupus Foundation of America

The Lupus Foundation of America has significantly improved the lives of lupus patients across the nation for more than 40 years.

Their efforts have advanced research into the underlying causes of lupus and its progression and have helped create a silver lining for the estimated 1.5 million Americans living with this devastating, mysterious disease.

Their mission centers around three key goals:

  • Reduce time to diagnosis
  • Ensure lupus patients have safe and effective treatment options
  • Expand direct services and increase access to treatment

Arthritis Foundation

The Arthritis Foundation is one of the champions for the arthritis community. They are fierce in their pursuit of a cure for the number one cause of disability in the United States.

The Arthritis Foundation is making great strides towards improving the lives of arthritis patients by leading the way in:

  • Access and advocacy
  • Scientific discovery
  • Juvenile arthritis
  • Help and support for patients across the nation
  • Creating communities and facilitating connections

National Multiple Sclerosis Society

The National MS Society has a straightforward goal, eradicate MS. Over the years, the MS Society has become the gathering place for patients and their families, healthcare providers, advocates, volunteers, and benefactors.

Their work to improve the lives of multiple sclerosis patients is so far-reaching that it’s easy to think of them more as a movement rather than a nonprofit organization.

Their strategic plan rests on these pillars:

  • Ensure comprehensive high-quality healthcare
  • Empower MS patients to solve everyday challenges
  • Expand resources and reach
  • Accelerate research to deliver a cure
  • Advocate to improve lives
  • Provide resources, connections, and support to all stakeholders
  • Achieve $1 billion breakthrough MS Fundraising Campaign

You can help create a world free of MS. Learn how by visiting the National MS Society site.

Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation

Since its creation in 1967, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation has invested more than $350 million into finding the causes, treatments, and definitive cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation leads the way in the following areas:

  • Research programs
  • Education programs
  • Advocacy
  • Access to quality care
  • Developing clinical trial communities that involve patients, their families, healthcare providers, and researchers

You too can join the fight against Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Find out how at the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.

National Infusion Center Association (NICA)

NICA is the leading advocacy organization for the advancement of non-hospital, non-oncology, in-office infusion centers in the United States.

Their goal is to improve access to safe, high-quality, cost-effective care for patients living with chronic diseases.

Altus Infusion is an active member of NICA and is a part of its advisory committee. As a result, we know firsthand the great work the organization has done since its inception in 2010.

However, there is still more that needs to be done to ensure every chronic disease patient in the country has access to quality, affordable biologic infusion treatments.

You can help make a difference. For more information, please visit NICA’s official website.

Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA)
